BCCK’S Powerful G2R-FLEX™ Technology Enhances Propane Recoveries

BCCK, a leader in engineering, procurement, fabrication and field construction services, is offering G2R-Flex, a patent-pending technology designed to optimize propane recoveries.

BCCK’s exclusive G2R-Flex is a natural gas liquids (NGL) extraction process delivering maximum profitability through higher plant performance and greater recoveries. As a complete turnkey solution, G2R-Flex can recover up to 99 percent of propane while sustaining a high rejection rate of ethane. Utilizing an add-on package design, G2R-Flex is connected to existing gas subcooled process (GSP) plants to reduce ethane recovery and increase propane recovery.

Jamey Wasson, director of process engineering, BCCK, said, “G2R-Flex enables higher recoveries at existing cryogenic processing plants. Typical GSP recoveries in ethane rejection are 20 percent ethane and 95 percent propane. Our new technology can improve that range with a ‘bolt-on’ package.”

With no additional residue compression required, G2R-Flex offers a 50 percent reduction in facility propane refrigeration requirements. Using equipment already available, G2R-Flex consists of a set of small pumps, vessel and heat exchangers, and requires no additional compression or power.

Wasson said, “G2R-Flex was designed as a simple and efficient recovery method to provide cost-effective results to exceed our customer’s expectations. With increased propane prices, BCCK’s GSP process has made it possible to improve recoveries without having to install a new facility.”

BCCK Boosts Propane Recovery with Next-Generation Technology at Cryogenic Gas Processing Facility

BCCK, a leader in engineering, procurement, fabrication and field construction services, has applied patent-pending technology, G2R-Flex™, to provide enhanced propane recovery for a premier midstream group in Ohio’s Marcellus-Utica Basin.

Utilizing a skidded BCCK patent-pending design, G2R-Flex™ improved current 200 MMSCFD GSP facilities propane recoveries to greater than 99 percent in ethane rejection and can also be applied to improve performance in ethane recovery.

Greg Hall, executive vice president, BCCK, said, “With increased propane prices, BCCK is continually working to improve overall project economics for our customers. Our latest design, G2R-Flex™, will further optimize recoveries to exceed customer expectations for NGL extraction.”

G2R-Flex™ is available to increase recoveries at many of the existing gas subcooled process (GSP) cryogenic gas processing facilities. This NGL extraction process assures maximum profitability through higher efficiencies and greater recoveries.

Hall added, “There are hundreds of cryo plants battling poor performance related to NGL recovery. BCCK has used its vast experience with cryogenic gas processing and NGL extraction to develop this simple, efficient, and effective modification for our customer.”

BCCK offered complete turnkey capabilities on this project through full EPC services (detailed planning and design; custom fabrication; and field installation), to increase propane recoveries for the local market.

BCCK Names Naomi Baker as Director of Engineering

BCCK, a leader in engineering, procurement, fabrication and field construction services, has appointed Naomi Baker as director of engineering.

Baker has more than 30 years of experience in gas processing operations, engineering, design and business development. Baker will be based at BCCK’s office in The Woodlands, Texas and will be responsible for all aspects of engineering, including process, mechanical, instrument and electrical (I&E) and design.

Kevin Blount, chief executive officer, said, “Naomi’s extensive background in gas processing and in leading multi-disciplined teams makes her a big asset to the BCCK family. Her broad range of expertise in engineering, project management, team leadership and technology development will prove invaluable to our company and our growth strategy. We are thrilled to welcome Naomi to our team and know that she will help BCCK continue to provide industry-leading solutions for all of our customers.”

Baker, a professional engineer, holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Texas Tech University. She is also co-inventor on 13 patents in natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery processes.
