BCCK Holding Company (BCCK), a leader in engineering, procurement, fabrication and field construction services, has signed an agreement with Archaea Energy to provide a 13,700 SCFM Style IV NiTech® Nitrogen Rejection Unit (NRU) to the world’s largest high BTU landfill gas to energy plant in Pennsylvania, U.S.
BCCK’s patented NiTech® technology performs a key role in transforming landfill gas into nearly 100% pure renewable natural gas. BCCK’s NRUs, which are engineered in-house and fabricated at BCCK’s fabrication facility, deliver less footprint, less compression requirements in terms of horsepower, at reduced CAPEX to alternative solutions on the market.
There have been four major revisions to the NiTech® process design over the past three decades. Style IV features a new, modular skidded design that allows greater flexibility with respect to compositional changes or flow capacity changes than ever before. With lower required horsepower compression and higher recovery, NiTech® is a simple, flexible and efficient NRU.
John Peterson, senior vice president of business development, BCCK, said, “BCCK is continuing to further expand our presence in the renewable gas industry and our patented technology is contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. We are very excited to be working with Archaea Energy at the largest high BTU landfill gas plant in the world, while providing the renewable gas market with another landfill gas NRU. To date, we have successfully completed 30 NRUs in our 40-year history and we are proud to play a role in a renewable industry that helps in the reduction of greenhouse gases.”

“After thorough succession planning, we are pleased to announce this natural evolution in the leadership of the organization,” said Clark Butts. “Kevin has a track record of strong leadership both inside and outside of BCCK. These factors, combined with his deep industry knowledge, make Kevin uniquely qualified to lead BCCK successfully going forward,” Clark elaborated.
Chairman of the Board, Ernie Danner, thanked Clark and his wife, Shirley, for their pivotal role in building and leading BCCK through the years: “We thank Clark for his tremendous dedication, loyalty and longstanding leadership of the company in his 40 years building BCCK and look forward to continuing to work with him to build out BCCK’s product lines. Clark’s wife Shirley has also been immensely important as a crucial element of the leadership at BCCK through the years and will continue to advise the company going forward.” Danner went on to acknowledge Blount, “Kevin has demonstrated strong capabilities at BCCK, and we are fortunate he has the continued support and encouragement of Clark, Shirley and the team. He’s been a successful leader both here and in his past endeavors. Even more importantly, he is a great fit with the team and the absolutely right person to further the success of BCCK. We’re extremely pleased that he’s accepted the position.”
“I’m honored for the chance to lead this organization of talented, innovative and dedicated professionals in Midland and The Woodlands,” said Blount. “I am excited for the future and grateful to Clark, Shirley and the Board of Directors for providing me the opportunity.”
Blount joined BCCK in 2017 after holding a variety of senior leadership positions, including as VP of Strategy and Business Development at Chart Industries, after a 32-year career at Chart. Originally from the United Kingdom, Blount moved to the United States in 2005 and lives in The Woodlands with his wife of thirty-seven years, Julie. He has two children and one grandson.
