    General Purpose:

      The Project Manager II (PM II) is responsible for all aspects of assigned projects and is expected to be able to manage small to medium-sized projects within the company.  The PM II works directly with engineering and design, procurement, fabrication, quality, safety, project controls, document control, accounting, and· construction management groups. The PM is a primary point of contact with clients, vendors, contractors/sub-contractors, third party service providers, attorneys, and regulatory agencies. This position focuses on meeting the needs of the project and continuously tracking all phases of a project from inception through completion. The PM is responsible for monitoring all aspects of her/his projects (safety, quality, schedule, spending, profitability, documentation, etc.) and is responsible for implementing corrective measures to address deviations from the plan. The PM II reports to and works under the general supervision of the Director of Projects (DP). A PM I may work assisting the Project Manager II, on his/her project.       Responsibilities:

      • Completes assignments made by the DP in a timely and correct manner, in compliance with company and client specifications, and in accordance with the contractual scope of work.
      • Assists in all stages of project management from contract signature to project completion as requested.
      • As directed, monitors project processes to expedite bottlenecked areas in all phases of the workflow.
      • Assists with tracking down details to answer customer and internal generated RFIs.
      • Learn terms and conditions in project contracts (client, vendor, contractors and other third-party providers).
      • As directed by the DP, helps with the implementation of solutions and/or recovery plans to overcome problems at the project level.
      • Works with the DP to monitor the project schedule, budget and cash flow reports, generated by the Project Controls group, for undesirable trends.
      • Provides engineering and documentation support for plans, schedules, reports, evaluations, documentation and troubleshooting for assigned projects.
      • Knowledgeable about project management software, codes, standards and processes required by the company, client and federal, state and local agencies.
      • Schedules and leads efficient project coordination meetings with project participants, client representatives, contractors, and vendors.
      • At this level, the PM II is developing the ability to recognize, whether internal or external, lingering issues preventing the progression of the project and moves swiftly to a resolution. 
      • Develops project plans to execute his/her projects.
      • Available to answer email and cell phone on evenings or weekends, if needed, to support the project, during time sensitive activities such as but not limited to commissioning & startup. 
      • May serve in a project engineering capacity (dual technical and project management role) for small projects with limited resources.

      • Communicate ideas for improvement to DP.  

      Required Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, preferably Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Electrical preferred)
      • 3-7 years of experience participating in the execution of capital projects, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.

      Work Environment:

      This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and electronic filing.  The job also operates in a construction setting as well as in fabrication shops where proper PPE is necessary.  The ability to move between settings is vital for this role.  Project site visits will be required. Site visits generally require traversing uneven terrain and the potential hazards of active construction areas.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, and sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, speak and listen, taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  Job site visits may require traversing uneven terrain and the potential hazards of an active construction area.

      Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

      This position is full-time, exempt, 40+ hour per week employment. Overtime hours are often required depending on the phase of the project and project schedule and may include weekends and evening work.

      Travel:

      Day trips and some overnight travel to domestic and international destinations will be expected for this position.  International trips are rare.
