NITECH PROJECT PROFILE, OXY ELK HILLS

Project Description

In 2006 Oxy Elk Hills began the search for NRU technology to complement their nitrogen flood project near Bakersfield, CA. The client wanted technology that could handle a wide range of nitrogen content, provide a clean separation, all the while requiring minimal horsepower. BCCK’s Nitech™ process was able to meet the requirements and BCCK was selected for the project.

The Nitech™ process provides the nitrogen near 300 psig, which dramatically reduced the injection horsepower required to re-inject the nitrogen stream. The facility also utilizes BCCK’s latest generation internal reflux condenser that provides the clean separation required. The facility came on-line in 2007.
