Nitrogen Rejection

Nitech™ Process

BCCK's Nitech™ NRU technology enables operators to profitably recover once by-passed reserves, regardless of nitrogen, CO2, helium, oxygen or other potential contaminants. The Nitech™ process is an economical, effective and highly efficient way to remove high concentrations of nitrogen from as little as 5 MMSCFD. It works equally well with inlet gas flows at 250 MMSCFD or greater. Plus the patented Nitech™ NRU delivers the efficiency of cryogenic processes with a much simpler, more reliable design. BCCK teams have installed Nitech™ systems installed throughout the United States, producing extra revenue streams from nitrogen floods, fire floods, coal mine methane, and naturally occurring low-BTU gas streams.

OTHER Project Profiles

BCCK Nitech™ APPLICATIONS

  1. Nitrogen floods with a wide range of nitrogen concentrations
  2. Processing associated gas from a fire flood, including high nitrogen concentrations and integrated NGL extraction.
  3. Integrated NGL extraction. Almost every Nitech™ installation, with the exception of the coal mine methane facilities, includes integrated NGL extraction.
  4. Integrated helium extraction, producing a crude grade helium stream

Also, when implemented in the mining industry, the Nitech™ process is able to provide additional revenue by processing previously vented gas for sale to the natural gas market.

BENEFITS OF NITECH™ NITROGEN REJECTION:

Low capital cost - only three major components

  1. Flexible design allowing wide range of inlet conditions
  2. Low power consumption - no cryogenic rotating equipment
  3. Simple, non complex process design requiring minimal operator attention
  4. Small footprint due to minimal equipment
  5. Compression horsepower much lower than non-cryogenic NRU options
  6. CO2 tolerant - no processing required beyond the capability of readily available amines
  7. Nitrogen contents from 5% to 90% reduced to as low as 1%
  8. High efficiency - hydrocarbon recovery typically in excess of 99%
  9. Environmentally friendly - emits no non-methane VOCs
  10. Quick restart
  11. Cold restart from short shutdowns, online and on-spec-just restart associated compression
  12. Integrated NGL extraction with high NGL extraction efficiencies (up to 90% ethane recovery possible)
  13. Integrated helium extraction with high helium recovery
